My mom's grandma and grandpa (the adults), George and Amanda "Mandy" (Goodson) Jenkins — They helped raise my mother, Imagene, along with rearing eleven children of their own including my mom's mother Susie. Mandy was respected, admired and loved by all. George was a handsome man and a good husband and father. My mother tells a story of getting a cut on her leg and having George treat it by putting chewing tobacco on it. I don't know if that was his home remedy or Mandy's;after all, Mandy was a midwife.
