This finished scratchboard illustration will now be scanned and color will be added in PhotoShop.

I usually do my own scans, but this illustration was too big to fit on my scanner, so it was sent out to be scanned. It was scanned at 300 ppi in bitmap (line art). When I get the scan, it is backed up and I open a copy of it in PhotoShop. The scan is converted to gray scale and saved.

I've added color to my scratchboard illustration several different ways, but using the computer and PhotoShop, has by far been the best way.
