  Scratchboard of Bread and Border

With the border and bread files both open in PhotoShop, I made the bread file active. With the move tool selected, I placed the curser in the bread file and drag it into the border. A new layer is created for the bread, above the border layer. With the move tool still selected, I used the arrow keys to position the bread. The transparency of the bread layer is temporarily set at 50 percent, so the border can be seen through it. With the pen tool, a path is drawn around the inside of the border where I want to delete the bread. After the path has been accurately drawn around the part of the bread that needs to be deleted, go to the paths palette and make a selection of the path (save this selection as a new channel, it may be needed later). with the bread layer as the active layer, press the delete key to remove every thing inside the selection. The bread now fits nicely inside the border at the bottom and overlaps on the sides.

TIP:
Is a pile of bread, just a pile of bread? In this case, the bread is arranged to direct the veiwers eye into the art, mainly to a logo that will be at the bottom.

TIP:
A sunrise, or morning, can represent a new beginning (in this case fresh).
