The
rendering of the press starts by doing an outline of the press and filling
in the dark areas with solid blocks of black ink. This defines the shape
and the lightest and darkest areas of the press. Next, use the technical
pen to put in, evenly spaced parallel lines in the areas with a 20 to
60 percent tonal value. Finish the press by making the parallel lines
thicker and thinner (thicker in darker areas and thinner in lighter areas)
and scratching detail into the solid black areas.
