  Transferring Pencil to Scratchboard
Burnishing the original pencil to a new piece of tracing paper.

I taped a new piece of tracing paper to the drawing board, then taped the pencil with graphite side down, on top of the new tracing paper. Then I used a Koh-i-noor electric eraser with a ball bearing attachment to burnish the pencil to the new piece of tracing paper. Taking the new tracing that has the original pencil transferred to it, I placed it, graphite side down, onto my scratchboard and transfered it to the scratchboard with the burnisher. The pencil is now on the scratchboard and I'm ready to start inking.

TIP:
You could print a flipped version of the reference to use in making the original pencil drawing, thus eliminating one of the transfers. But I feel more comfortable working in the correct view, especially when corrections need to be made to the reference.
