Reference For Second Pencil

The client reviewed the rough sketch and gave me comments and suggestion which I will incorporate into the next round of pencils.

The next pencil will be drawn as accurately as possible. If it is approved, it will be used to start the final scratchboard illustration. Since this pencil has to be accurate, both in anatomy and costume, I outfit the model in a rented costume and props before taking several reference photographs. It was not possible to find an exact costume, since at this stage the exact style of costume still had not been determined. I would have to do the drawing based on printed reference from the client that showed how some part of the clothing might look, written suggestions on how others parts might look, and what ever reference I could find at the library or bookstore. It was going to be very much like doing a police sketch — I keep drawing until the client says it is right.
