It's impossible to show how sharp the scan is using monitor resolution, but trust me, it's sharp, damn sharp. Or better yet, crank up Photoshop, throw a piece of line art on the scanner, and try it yourself. I think you'll be pleased with the results.

Review:
1. Scan in Grayscale.
2. Save a new Snapshot of original scan.
3. Check the new Snapshot to tell Photoshop to use that version with the History Brush.
4. Sharpen the image.
5. Add a new Threshold Adjustment layer.
6. Adjust Threshold.
7. Make refinements to selected areas if needed.
8. Convert to Bitmap mode.

It may take a little longer, but it'll make a big difference!
