I was provided a layout from the art director who was handling the design of the newsletter cover. The comp was done with lines and gray washes for added tone, but the art director wanted the finished art to be done completely as line art. Other instructions from the art director included, giving the illustration a "Matrix" look, be sure the before and after position of the jaw is obvious, and to imply a downward and forward movement of the dental devise.

I will scan the layout and use it as a guide for doing the final art.
