The client faxed the layout of the ad to me and we discussed it over the phone. He wanted the illustration to be as dramatic as possible, with a dramatic perspective looking from the deck of the ship up to the top of the mast. The layout shows the illustration as being a silhouette on a white background, but is our conversation, The client decided it would be better to have a sky and waves in the background and that the illustration should be a rectangle.


We agreed on the basic idea of the illustration—now I need to do a pencil sketch for client approval.
