I received an e-mail from Paradigm, the publisher of a magazine in Japan.
They wanted an illustration of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, looking over his shoulder,
as though he is sensing something is sneaking up on him. It would be used
on the cover of the magazine going along with the feature article about
(fill in with e-mail message info).

The magazine cover.
The most difficult part of doing this illustration, was
finding reference to work from. While looking for reference at a nature
store I found a toy T-rex.
I setup the toy T-rex and photographed it at several angles with a digital
camera. Then I used the body of one image and the head from another, to
get the "looking over the shoulder" pose.
To get a more realistic shape to the T-rex, I used the Liquify feature
of Photoshop 6.
