The same image as above, after adding detail with the the pencil tool, using dots and lines of white. A graphics pen is much better than a mouse for this type of hand work.


After all the lines have been added using the shading method, the image is converted to Bitmap mode (line art).

The final image is 600ppi and about 7 inches square; it will print at 1200ppi and 3.5 inches square, but could print even smaller.

This is a quick and easy way to make an icon that has a woodcut or scratchboard look, and it can also be used to make a series of icons, possibly to add an annimated feel to a printed interview.
